【6 February 2026, Hong Kong】 The award ceremony for the Testing & Certification Manpower Development Award Scheme 2025-2026 organised by the Hong Kong Certification and Testing Centre (HKCTC) took place on 6 February 2026. Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre (STC) proudly received the Testing and Certification Manpower Development Corporate Award (Platinum Award) for the third consecutive edition. In addition, Ms. Toby YEUNG, Senior Technical Officer of Chemical, Food and Pharmaceutical Products Department was honoured with the Excellent Testing and Certification Professional Award (Junior Professional). The two awards recognised STC’s outstanding contributions to promoting the manpower and professional development of testing and certification practice, as well as the commitment of its staff to professional excellence and continuous development.
The Testing & Certification Manpower Development Award Scheme has been presented every two years since 2021. The programme aims to commend testing and certification organisations that prioritise talent cultivation and actively develop human resources, encouraging enterprises to continue supporting initiatives that enhance employees' professional skills and motivating practitioners to continuously improve their standards.

【16 January 2026, Hong Kong】– STC (The Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre) exhibited at Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair 2026, held from 12 to 15 January 2026, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). Directing the Asian toy industry’s trend setting and discussion, the annual event attracted over 41,000 visitors and provided a great platform connecting STC to global toy brands and manufacturers planning their international market entry or further expansion in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan, Vietnam and other Asian markets.
With the Hong Kong Government's strong support for the exhibition sector, this year's event has proven busier than last year, featuring a trio of Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair, Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, and Hong Kong International Stationery & School Supplies Fair, connecting 82,000 buyers from 121 countries and regions with over 2,600 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions.
At the exhibition, STC’s professional team and representatives from toy brands and manufacturers discussed the latest quality and compliance challenges and how integrated testing, inspection and certification (TIC) solutions with market-specific expertise could help them stay ahead of competition. Mr. Johnny WONG, General Manager of STC’s Toys and Children Products Division, stated, "The exhibition has attracted a wide range of industry practitioners from global groups to emerging regional brands, eager to learn about the latest industry insights for Hong Kong’s multi-market connectivity. While toys for babies and young children remain popular, IP, AI, model and kidult toys have gained much more attention. The designated testing services provided by STC's Toys & Children’s Products Testing division have been accredited for specific test items as listed on the respective directory of accreditation by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS) and Japan Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (JMHW). STC is also a Japan Toy Association (JTA) approved laboratory for ST Mark testing, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) approved testing laboratory for CPSIA testing. [7 June 2025, Hong Kong] Hong Kong's economy is undergoing rapid transformation. The silver economy is one of the sectors receiving increasing attention, bringing focus many relevant daily products, such as healthcare products, food, electronics, etc. The enormous business potential is calling on local businesses and brands to continuously produce high-quality, safe and green products to stay competitive. To promote local quality brands, enhance public awareness of product safety and strengthen support for Brand Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre (STC) and the Hong Kong Certification Centre (HKCC) jointly hosted the 2025 Certificate Award Ceremony and Product Safety Carnival, which officially opened on Friday, 6 June, at Citywalk Phase 1 in Tsuen Wan. The ceremony attracted over 400 representatives from businesses, government officials and the public, creating a vibrant and star-studded atmosphere.
This year, STC was honoured to invite Mr. CHEUK Wing-hing, GBS, JP, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, as the guest of honour at the ceremony. Mr. CHEUK stated in his speech, "STC has kept pace with changing domestic and international markets over the past decades, offering diversified testing and certification services tailored for market needs. As an independent third-party gatekeeper of product and service quality standards, STC has helped businesses, large and small, expand into various markets. With Hong Kong as its base, STC has established branches and offices in multiple locations, promoting the advantages of Hong Kong testing and certification globally and reinforcing Hong Kong’s story." He further emphasised that independent third-party testing and certification organisations play a key role in setting quality standards for products, helping drive local elderly-care product certification to enhance credibility and attractiveness. By strengthening protection for silver consumers, these efforts align with government policies to boost the silver economy, supporting the broader promotion of "quality assurance of silver products". Following his speech, Mr. CHEUK presented certificates to the 44 companies that achieved HKCC certification this year and interacted with exhibiting companies to understand more about the current retail market trends.
