EU Updated Harmonised Standards to Comply with the Toy Safety Directive

On 2021-11-15, the European Commission published "Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1992" on harmonised standards in support of the Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC (TSD).


The Decision, repealing the previous issues including (EU) 2021/867, is to update the list of harmonised standards for the presumption of conformity with the corresponding essential requirements set out in the TSD.

Effective Date:
This Decision has entered into force on 2021-11-15 as published in the Official Journal of the European Union, and the references of the harmonised standards, as listed in Annex I to this Decision, are to be used. However, as described in Annex II and III of this decision, grace periods are given to certain standards for toys before the deadlines as specified above.
