2025-07-03

On 10 June 2025, the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy issued Legislative Notice No. 2025-426 to revise the “Enforcement Decree of the Special Act on Children's Product Safety” and inform the public in advance of the revision’s rationale and details whileseekingstakeholder opinions.

Reason for the Revision

Under the current Children's Product Safety Special Act, “Inclined Cradles” are classified under the “Infant Beds” category in Annex 2 of regulated Children’s Products. This classification is now recognised as inappropriate.

The revision aims to prevent safety accidents caused by misunderstandings of the product's intended use and to ensure the safety of infants and young children.

Main Changes

- Add “Non-Sleeping Inclined Cradles” to the list of children’s products subject to safety confirmation (Annex 2).

- Separate “Inclined Cradles” from “Infant Beds” andname the product category to “Inclined Cradle for Non-Sleep Use” to clarify its intended purpose.

Deadline for Comments
