On 01 August2025, China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR 國家市場監督管理總局) officially released GB 26572-2025: “Requirements for Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products” (電器電子產品有害物質限制使用要求) (China RoHS 2025).
Significance
This is the country’s first mandatory national standard for China RoHS, marking a significant step in tightening limits on hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products and aligning with the requirements of Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS) of the European Union.
GB 26572-2025 integrates and refines the technical content set out in the two following existing recommended standards (推薦 / 行業標準) and will completely replace the first one (GB/T 26572-2011) after the effective date.

Substantial Changes
The major changes over the existing GB/T version are as follows.
Expanded hazardous substance categories:
Aligning with international requirements, the range of restricted hazardous substances expanded from six to ten, including limits for four new phthalate categories (DBP, DIBP, BBP and DEHP).
Refined classification management:
Enhanced classification of electrical and electronic products and restrictions on hazardous substances (to satisfy China's Management Method (《管理辦法》 “兩步走” 管理方案).
Upgraded labellng methods:
Included the “RoHS Labellng Requirements” in SJ/T 11364-2024. Digital labels such as QR codes are introduced.
Effective Date
Effective: 01 August 2027. Products produced or imported before the effective date of this document must comply with the new requirements starting from the 13th month after the effective date.
