Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) sets out the update of minimum performance requirements for radiocommunications apparatuses operating in the 6 GHz band for the wireless local area network (WLAN). The apparatus should meet relevant requirements under Hong Kong Telecommunications Equipment Evaluation and Certification (HKTEC) Scheme before launching for sale in the Hong Kong market.

Standard:
HKCA 1081 Issue 2 – Performance Specification for Radiocommunications Apparatus Operating in the 6 GHz Band for Wireless Local Area Network
Update: 1) Remove electrical safety requirements.
2) Clarify 5.925 – 5.945 GHz frequency band is reserved as a guard.
3) Clarify apparatus defined in the ETSI EN 303 687 standard, in particular Low Power Indoor (LPI) and Very Low Power (VLP), shall meet the technical requirements stated in the ETSI EN 303 687 standard.
Labelling Requirements

Certificates issued by STC are assigned the LCB code ‘HK001’ as the prefix to certification numbers in accordance to prescribed specifications.
