On 28 January 2026, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) officially released EN 71-1:2026 (Safety of toys - Part 1: Mechanical and Physical Properties) superseding EN 71-1:2014+A1:2018. Non-compliant products will face immediate risks of customs detention and huge fines.
