Lighting equipment is essential for our daily living.  As the market and technology evolve, the usage and demand for smart lighting have skyrocketed.  To protect the safety of end-users, there are various requirements and guidelines issued by different countries for manufacturers and retailers to follow, such as the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) in China, Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC Directive) in Europe and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Rules and Regulation in the United States.

The 26th Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition was successfully staged at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou during 3-6 Aug 2021.  The Dongguan laboratory of STC (Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre), STC (Dongguan) Company Limited, was one of the 2,028 exhibitors this year.

【China, 2 August 2021】2021 The Second China Food Brand Innovation And Development Conference & Guangdong, Hong Kong And Macao Food Expo was held at GD Modern International Exhibition Center in Houjie, Dongguan from 30 Jul to 1 Aug 2021.  The Dongguan laboratory of STC (Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre), STC (Dongguan) Company Limited, was one of the exhibitors at the Expo.  On a massive scale which spans over 100,000 m² of the exhibition area, the Expo drew 300 and more exhibitors and provided a professional networking platform for food brand owners, distributors, agents and other practitioners in the country.

【China, 28 July 2021】To facilitate the transition to the new standard GB9706.1-2020 for manufacturers, Association of Medical Devices Industry in Dongguan City collaborated with the Dongguan laboratory of STC, STC (Dongguan) Company Limited, to jointly hold a seminar to explain the GB9706.1-2020 standard on 28 July 2021 afternoon in Dongcheng, Dongguan.  Ms. Yena Zhuang, Senior Manager of the Medical Devices Department of STC (Dongguan), was invited to be a speaker of the seminar who introduced differences between the old and new standards.  The new standard emphasizes on the importance of risk management and imposes more stringent technological requirements on the safety, protection and basic performance of medical devices.

【China, 26 July 2021】On 5 July 2021, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) released the CNCA’s 2021 Announcement No. 10 on the Decision on Certified Organizations to Issue China Compulsory Certification (CCC), which officially announced Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre’s (STC) testing laboratory in Shanghai - STC (Shanghai) - as one of the newly designated laboratories to undertake CCC testing services for toys.
